When Should You Change Your Brake Pads?

Brake pads are a critical safety component, and changing them at the right time can prevent costly damage and ensure safe driving. One of the easiest ways to know when to replace your brake pads is by checking their remaining thickness.

Brake Pad Thickness Guide

6mm and above – GOOD (Green)
Your brake pads are still in healthy condition. No replacement is needed yet, but regular inspections are recommended.

Around 4–5mm – REPLACE SOON (Yellow)
This is a warning stage. Your brake pads are wearing down and should be scheduled for replacement soon to avoid damage to the brake disc.

3mm or below – REPLACE NOW (Red)
Immediate replacement is required. Driving with pads this thin can significantly reduce braking performance and may damage the brake rotor.

• Squealing or grinding noise when braking
• Reduced braking response
• Vibration when braking
• Brake warning light turns on
